An American in Paris

Had a pretty crappy day, but I keep telling myself that it’s okay cause I’m going to Barcelona tomorrow!  This morning, I gave the woman at the boulangerie 20 euros to pay for my sandwich and drink, but she only gave me change for a 10.  So I politely informed her that she gave me the wrong change, that I had given her a 20.  She snapped back at me “No, you gave me a 10.  I’m sure of it.”  So I had to keep telling her as best I could that I really did giver her a 20, but after awhile I ran out of vocabulary to argue with her and there was a line forming behind me so I just had to give up and accept the fact that I got screwed out of 10 euros….very annoying!

Ballet, jazz, etc…metro ride home was a BITCH.  The RER B was like really late and the platform was COMPLETELY full of people waiting for the RER, so I was like “Hey I’ll be smart and just take the 4 and then walk back to my dorm, hehheh I’m so crafty.”  So I walk across the entire station to where the 4 platform is and then I get there and the man comes on the loudspeaker and tells everyone to get off the train and leave the platform cause there was some security issue and they were waiting for the police to arrive to take care of it.  Then I walked ALL THE WAY BACK where I had to wait for 2 trains to get on the RER and ended up whacking like 800 people with my bag to get off the train cause no one moved when I had to get off.  I hate public transit!!!

Dinner, laundry, shower (where I locked myself out of my room…cute!), technology hates me, and still haven’t packed for Barcelona yet….looks like I”m not gonna sleep tonight!  We’re leaving at 6 am!  Woohooooo Spring Break 2011!!!
