Soooo today we went back to il Duomo (and don’t worry this time I wore pants! Lest I offend….whoever it is I might offend my showing my knees inside a church) to walk around inside and take pictures, etc. The inside was actually really pretty and had lots of cool stained glass and it was a very beautiful cathedral all in all. Then we decided to buy tickets to the top of the church to get a view of the city. The tickets to walk up the stairs were 5 euros and the elevator tickets were 8 euros (pft, fuck that). So obvi we bought the cheaper ones and hiked up 185822 flights of ancient stone stairs to get to the roof. I wasn’t feel so well once I got to the top so I sat down to catch my breath since I thought I was just really out of shape from not dancing for over a week.
FAST FORWARD 2.6 SECONDS…I’m on the ground and the world is spinning. YAY Katie passed out on top of a famous Italian cathedral! What a story for the grand kiddies. Apparently, I sat down on a step, put my head on my knees, and then proceeded to go head first into a wall. I don’t remember anything after sitting down, but when I woke up Patrick and some nice Austrian tourist were helping to sit me up. Honestly, it all felt like I had just fallen asleep and everyone was just irritating me by waking me up out of a nap. I guess I just really didn’t like the altitude of being however many stories in the air haha oops. Then some Italian security guard kept speaking to me in Italian and asked if he needed to call an ambulance, to which I refused over and over. The Austrian guy gave me his bottle of water. I didn’t get any pictures of the view, but at least I got to ride the elevator back down. What a way to spend your last day in Milan.
Not much tops fainting on top of a medieval church in Milan. But after that, I proceeded to eat an entire pizza and drink a litre of water. Then we saw some museums, which included a musical instrument museum and that was pretty cool. I went back to the hostel to take a nap cause I still felt kinda weak and gross so I showered and slept and felt a million times better after.
We had dinner at a risotto restaurant and you could only order bottles of wine to drink, no by the glass kinda shit. Not like we were complaining. I had panna cotta with strawberry sauce for dessert and could have died happy at that moment. To bad I didn’t eat that meal before I decided to take a tumble on top of a church.
