The hostel we are staying in offers free walking tours of the city so we did two in the past two days. Lots of cool monuments and tourist-y shit. We always got lunch and gelato after the tours and of course they were magnificent. nomnomnomnom I will never get sick of Italian food.
Our days have mostly consisted of filling time between meals, which I have no problem with, but it doesn’t make for very exciting tumblr posts. We mostly just walk around and take pictures of cool stuff (except I haven’t been because my camera battery died and I didn’t charge it for two days…oops sorrybout it.) Lots of window shopping on the designer streets….Prada, Hermes, D&G, Burberry….sigh. I’m not one to drool over over priced designer fashion, but WOW this stuff is amazing. Eek!
Florence is famous (apparently) for its leather making industry. The street markets are full of vendors hocking cheap wallets and silk ties. The best part is that it’s still all really pretty stuff and I ended up buying some pashmina scarves today! Yippy! I heart Florence and I don’t want to leave…but I’m still stoked for Venice tomorrow!
