Last morning in Florence….we had breakfast at the hostel, walked around the leather market and got coffee at a little corner place down the street. We realized almost too late that our train to Venice was at another train station (not the one in the part of town where we were staying), so we had to HAUL ASS with all our shit and book it to make our train to Venice, which we caught with a few seconds to spare. Phew!
Arrival in Venice!! We walked out of the train station and right onto the canal. Breathtaking! We caught what can only be described as a “boat metro” to the “island” where our hotel is. It’s really expensive to get around by boat so we are trying to save money by only taking it as necessary, starting tomorrow.
We had a mediocre dinner and walked around our little area for awhile before settling back in at the hotel. We caught some hilarious Venetian public access television with dancing old people and laughed our asses off at that for awhile.
Sight-seeing tomorrow!
